It is planned to use each class's WESSA (Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa) Eco-Schools project as a blogging and collaborative shared environments between schools and classes to enhance English, keyboard, and web skills while actively sharing their environmental and eco-logical knowledge/projects.
Video conferencing (for online mentoring, remote technical queries, etc.) provided by an Ejabberd server on the network.
Voice/video/IM & IRC server in alignment with the deployment plans of the OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) XS servers.
Content will be filtered using Dan's Guardian, which is another deployed app with the XS server. In keeping with OSS philosophy, development experience will be useful for other Xhosa/English school networks.
